Common questions
How much does Tenventory cost?
Tenventory is free to download and try. You can create reports, take photos and preview the PDF for free. To email, save or share reports, there’s one payment, with no subscription: £4.99 for tenants, or Tenventory Pro at £19.99 for landlords and letting agents, which also unlocks cost proposals and deposit scheme evidence packs.
I’ve bought Tenventory before. How do I get it back?
Go to Settings → Purchase → Restore Purchases. Your purchase belongs to your Apple Account, so it comes back on any iPhone or iPad signed in to the same account, even after deleting the app.
Does the other person need the app?
No. Every report is a PDF that you email from your iPhone or iPad. Tenants, landlords and agents can read it on any device and reply by email. You can record their reply in the app.
How do I send a report?
Follow the steps at the top of each page: photos, meter readings, alarm tests, keys, wrap up and sign. On the last step, Send Report, choose Email the PDF. Tenventory opens Mail with the PDF attached. If Mail isn’t set up, it opens the share sheet so you can use Gmail, Outlook or another app.
Why does Tenventory want my location?
Each photo is stamped with where it was taken, as evidence it was taken at the property. Location is only used while you’re taking photos and never leaves your device unless you send a report.
Why do some photos say “date not verified”?
Photos added from your photo library weren’t taken in Tenventory, so the app can’t confirm when or where they were taken. They’re still included, but clearly labelled. For the strongest evidence, take photos in the app.
Can I take more than one photo of a wall or floor?
Yes. After each photo tap Take Another Floor Photo (or Walls, Ceiling and so on), or tap Add Another next to a shot in the room. Use it for a close-up of each mark, ideally with a coin for scale.
Which rules does Tenventory follow?
Choose England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland in Settings. Tenventory then uses that nation’s deposit protection schemes and deadlines, deposit limit and alarm requirements. In Wales, reports use the Renting Homes (Wales) Act terms “contract-holder” and “occupation contract”. Tenventory doesn’t give legal advice; if you can’t agree on a deposit, contact your deposit protection scheme.
How do I use Tenventory on my iPhone and iPad?
Sign in to the same Apple Account on both and make sure iCloud is on for Tenventory in Settings. Reports, including drafts, sync between your devices.
Can I stop halfway and finish later?
Yes. Everything saves as you go. Tap Save and Exit on any screen and pick up where you left off from the Home or Properties tab.
How do I keep a copy of a report?
After sending, tap Save to Files to save the PDF to iCloud Drive or On My iPhone. You can also open any report from the Reports tab and share the PDF again.
How do I delete my data?
Swipe left on a report in the Reports tab to delete it, or delete everything from Settings → Demo and Reset → Delete All Data and Start Again. See our privacy policy for more.
